Talking Cartoon Maker — Make Your Cartoon Characters Talk with AI

Yes, AI can make a cartoon character talk. In GenCartoon’s Studio 2.0 every scene can have one speaking character: you write the line and choose who says it, and the scene renders with that line spoken and lip-synced, along with the rest of the scene’s sound. A conversation becomes a run of scenes, one line each, assembled into an episode of 15 seconds to 3 minutes.

The voice is generated with the scene: there is no voice picker, no voice cloning and no music track. Writing your first story is free; rendering scenes uses credits, which every paid plan includes (All in One $29.99 a month). You can start with a free cartoon — no credit card — to try a character’s look first.

Describe the characters and what they talk about in a sentence or two; you write each exact line, scene by scene, in Studio 2.0.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write or paste the conversation

Describe the characters and what they talk about, or paste a script with dialogue. The Story Agent writes it into scenes with a cast.

  2. 2

    Give each scene its line

Each scene keeps one short spoken line and the character who says it. Split a long speech over several scenes.

  3. 3

    Check the cast

Each character gets a reference sheet that every scene uses, so the speaker stays close to their look from line to line.

  4. 4

    Render and download

Scenes render with the line spoken and lip-synced, and the episode is assembled into one film in your Library, ready to download.

What you get

  • Lip-synced lines

The speaking character’s mouth moves with the line, in the same render as the scene.

  • Dialogue from your script

Paste a script with dialogue: each scene keeps one line and one speaker.

  • Conversations, scene by scene

Two characters can trade lines across scenes; one speaker per scene keeps every line clear.

  • Any character can talk

A grumpy cat, a nervous robot, a talking banana: describe them once and they stay close to their look.

  • Scene sound included

Footsteps, wind, a door slam: every scene also gets generated sound that fits the action.

  • Vertical or horizontal

Set the story’s frame shape: 9:16 for Shorts, TikTok and Reels, or 16:9 for regular videos.

How to write lines that come out clearly

Short lines work best — a sentence a character can say in a few seconds, like “I said one cookie, not the whole jar!”. Give each line its own scene and name who says it; when two characters argue, alternate scenes. Put the words in the scene’s spoken line, not in the description of what happens: words written into the picture tend to be painted as text.

Want a narrator over the whole video, a song or background music? Those are not part of a scene: add a voice-over or music in your editor after you download the episode. For a script you already have, the cartoon story maker shows how a story becomes scenes; for a whole show, the AI cartoon series generator.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI make a cartoon character talk?
Yes. In GenCartoon’s Studio 2.0 each scene can have one speaking character: you write a short line, pick who says it, and the scene renders with that line spoken and lip-synced.
Can two characters have a conversation?
Yes, one line at a time: each scene has one speaker, so a back-and-forth becomes alternating scenes, assembled into one episode of 15 seconds to 3 minutes.
Can I choose the voice or clone my own?
No. The voice is generated with the scene by the video model; there is no voice picker, no list of voices and no voice cloning.
Does it add music?
No. Scenes come with generated sound, but there is no music track; add music in your editor after you download.
Can the free cartoon talk?
Spoken, lip-synced lines are set per scene in Studio 2.0, and rendering scenes uses credits from a paid plan. The free cartoon — a 4-second clip with generated sound — is a good way to try a character’s look first, and writing your first Studio 2.0 story is free.
How long can a talking cartoon be?
Each scene is 1–15 seconds on the Standard engine or 2–30 on Ultra, and an episode — its scenes joined into one film — runs 15 seconds to 3 minutes. A story holds up to 6 episodes.
Will the talking character look the same in every scene?
They stay close to their look: each character gets a reference sheet that every scene uses. Check each scene; you can re-render one that drifts (it uses credits) without redoing the episode.
Can I use talking cartoons on YouTube and TikTok?
Yes. What you make is yours to post and monetise; see the cartoon maker for YouTube for formats that work on a channel.
