Description

A vibrant cartoon with bright colours and smooth animation, presented as one short continuous animated sequence. The story follows Okh, a lazy schoolboy, throughout a day and through different activities. Morning light spreads across the path as Maksym, Yura, Klava and other schoolchildren head to school, while Okh remains stuck in bed, yawning and refusing to get up, saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! Полежу і це хоч трішки!" In class, the other children are interested in the lessons, but Okh yawns into his fist and says in Ukrainian, "Ох! Як довго йде урок!" He holds a pointer while trying to find Africa on a map and complains in Ukrainian, "Ох! Куди це з карти зник всім відомий материк?.." He struggles with a math problem, nearly crying, then says in Ukrainian, "Ох! Задача не легка, краще я спишу в дружка!" He looks at a cheat sheet, but the teacher takes it away and asks in Ukrainian, "Ох! Навіщо підглядав?!" Later, his mother cooks porridge while Okh follows her impatiently, waiting for lunch and saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! Коли вже той обід?" On the way to the cinema, only three hundred steps away, he sits and waits for a tram, complaining in Ukrainian, "Ох! Трамвая щось немає." Children race downhill on sleds, but Okh stays away because he is cold, saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! Мороз мене пройма!" The children put on skates and glide across the ice; Okh wobbles like a little goat and cries in Ukrainian, "Ох! Тримайте! Уп-паду!" During a comedy film everyone laughs until tired, while Okh mutters sleepily, "Ох! Я спати захотів!.." Spring rain falls from the sky and the children avoid puddles, but Okh simply stands waiting for the water to dry, saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! Хай висохне вода!" His ball lies near geese and goslings; he stops instead of retrieving it and calls out in Ukrainian, "Ох! Боюся гусака!" Andriyko and Mykola invite him to play football, but Okh does not move, complaining in Ukrainian, "Ох! Болять у мене ніжки..." The children help the collective farm by gathering ears of grain into sacks, while Okh refuses to go into the field, saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! У мене в боці коле!" A fly lands on his ear, but he does not even raise his hands, saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! Нехай злетить сама!" Okh goes fishing with another boy, takes a fishing rod, but quickly falls asleep beside the water, dreaming sleepily, "Люлі-люлі! Ловись, рибко, із каструлі!.." The sun shines hot and bright, but Okh refuses to swim because the water is too cold, saying in Ukrainian, "Ох! Вода холодна дуже!" He wanders near the river and gets his shoes dirty, then complains in Ukrainian, "Ох! Це ж треба мити їх? Краще я піду в брудних..." Around a campfire, the boys go to collect firewood. Okh goes to look for wood but never returns, and neither Okh nor the firewood appears. The final moment suggests playful mystery as the children wonder whether he has returned to the classroom or is somewhere among them, ending with the question in Ukrainian, "Може, Ох той серед вас?"
