Nauman, an elderly porter worn down by age and poverty, sits near a shop and gathers his strength to work. He stands in front of the merchant's shop, where the merchant challenges him with a bet: if Nauman can carry three heavy sacks and move them to a customer's car, he will receive 10 qirsh; if he fails, he will receive nothing. Nauman hesitates briefly because of the sacks' great weight. The arrogant young porter Ashour steps in, mocks Nauman for his age, and boasts that he is the only one capable of carrying them. Ashour ties the sacks around himself and tries to stand, but collapses under their tremendous weight and cries out helplessly. Nauman then steps forward steadily, pushes Ashour aside, firmly ties the sacks, and carries them to the car successfully. He takes his payment and walks away with his head held high, having proven his strength and regained his dignity in front of everyone.
