Description

A vibrant cartoon with colours and smooth animation. Ten-year-old Auggie Pullman was born with Treacher Collins syndrome. Due to his facial differences, he underwent 27 surgeries and was homeschooled until the fifth grade. Now, however, his parents decide to send him to a mainstream school, Beecher Prep. His first day proves difficult. Students stare at Auggie, whisper about him, and try to keep their distance. Julian is particularly cruel. Yet Auggie doesn't give up and gradually finds true friends in Summer and Jack. One day, Auggie helps Jack with a test, and a strong friendship forms between the boys. But everything falls apart on Halloween when Auggie accidentally overhears Jack laughing at him with Julian. For Auggie, this feels like a true betrayal. Later, Jack realizes his mistake and tries to mend the friendship. He stands up for Auggie, leading to a conflict with Julian. Another surprise arises when Julian's mother demands that Auggie be removed from the school. She even alters a class photo to make it appear as though the other students do not accept the boy. However, Principal Tushman uncovers the deception and defends Auggie. The most tense moment occurs during a school field trip. Auggie and Jack are attacked by older students from another school. Just when it seems the boys are on their own, Julian's former friends unexpectedly come to their aid. Following this incident, attitudes toward Auggie change completely. At the end of the school year, Auggie takes the stage to receive a medal for strength and courage. The boy who was once shunned and mocked has become one of the most respected students in the school.
