Prism and the Count-Along Day

Description

# Prism and the Count-Along Day **The show:** Prism is a small white cat whose fluffy tail has five rainbow stripes: red, yellow, green, blue, purple. Each time she counts something correctly, the next stripe of her tail glows. Count to five, and the whole tail shines and gives the day a little magic. **Cast:** Prism (6), her toddler brother Dot (a gray kitten who repeats everything), and Nana Fern, who is always up to something in her garden. **Style:** 7-minute episodes, pretend play, big feelings, and a gentle joke for the grown-ups. --- ## Episode 1: "Five Little Pumpkins" **Scene 1: The garden.** Nana is baking pumpkin muffins, but the recipe needs five little pumpkins. **NANA:** Prism, can you bring me five little pumpkins? **PRISM:** Easy! I'm a *great* counter. Come on, Dot! **DOT:** Come on, Dot! **Scene 2: The pumpkin patch.** Prism finds the first pumpkin under a leaf. **PRISM:** One! *(Her red stripe glows.)* **DOT:** Won! **PRISM:** Two! Hiding behind the wheelbarrow! *(Yellow glows.)* Dot rolls pumpkin three right out of the patch and it bumps into a sleepy hedgehog. **HEDGEHOG:** Excuse me, that's my pillow. **PRISM:** Sorry! We'll find another. *(Pumpkin three goes back. Prism frowns, and the tail dims.)* **DOT:** Tail sad. **PRISM:** I got too fast. Let's slow down and count together. **Scene 3: Counting together.** They find three, four, and five as a pair, and each stripe lights up. **PRISM & DOT:** One, two, three, four, FIVE! The whole tail shimmers and a tiny rainbow arcs over the garden. **Scene 4: The kitchen.** Nana lines up the five pumpkins and makes five muffins, one for everyone. Dot gets a crumb-covered nose, and Prism uses the tail-glow as a night light for bedtime. **NANA:** Five pumpkins, five muffins, and five happy friends. **Closing song (sing-along, 20 seconds):** *One for the sun, two for the rain,* *Three for the breeze, four for the train,* *Five for the rainbow, shining bright,* *Count with me and say goodnight!* --- **The lesson:** Counting is better when you slow down and do it together, one thing at a time.
