In a single continuous animated shot, Layla, a 19-year-old Egyptian girl with wheat-toned skin, large brown eyes, and long dark brown hair, wearing a light purple blouse and white trousers, helps her mother clean an old room in their house. As she cleans near the bed, she unexpectedly discovers a small wooden box hidden underneath it. Curious, Layla pulls the box out, opens it, and finds a photograph of a baby girl and a mysterious letter bearing her own name. She picks up the letter and notices its date, realizing with growing confusion that it was written a full year before her birthday. Her expression shifts from curiosity to shock and bewilderment as she stares at the letter, wondering what her mother has been hiding from her. The scene uses expressive cartoon facial animation, rich vibrant colors, soft cinematic lighting, and smooth, natural character movements, maintaining visual continuity throughout the shot. Arabic voice-over narration says in Egyptian Arabic, "ليلى كانت فاكرة إنها عارفة كل حاجة عن أمها، وإن مفيش أسرار بينهم. لكن في يوم، وهي بتنضف أوضة قديمة في البيت، لقت صندوق صغير جواه صورة بنت رضيعة، ورسالة مكتوب عليها اسمها. الغريب إن تاريخ الرسالة كان قبل يوم ميلادها بسنة كاملة!" Layla looks at the letter in disbelief and says in Egyptian Arabic, "إيه ده؟ وليه مكتوب اسمي عل"
